The Dynamic Change Getter Robo rerelease brings back the palm-sized transforming trio. Here's how it differs from the original and what to check before you buy.

Quick answer

The rerelease brings back the same palm-sized, fully transformable Getter Machine set, so the core play experience is unchanged. The main difference is availability: this is a fresh production run rather than a new mold, and the Getter Robo G set is offered alongside it.

What the rerelease actually is

This is a reissue of the Dynamic Change Getter Robo set, not a redesign. The three Getter Machines still transform and combine into Getter-1, Getter-2, and Getter-3, and the scale remains small enough to fit in your palm while keeping a high joint count for posing.

Because the catalog does not list mold changes, paint revisions, or accessory differences for this run, treat any claim of 'improved' engineering as unverified. The safest expectation is the original toy, produced again.

Where the Getter Robo G set fits

The Getter Robo G set is a separate release covering the second series. It includes Dragon, Liger, and Poseidon, which combine into Star Dragon, Star Arrow, and Star Poseidon. If you want a complete Getter roster on the shelf, these are two distinct purchases rather than one expanding set.

The G set follows the same palm-sized, transformable approach, so the two releases display well together. Just confirm which series you are buying before checkout, since the product names are close.

The trade-off of small-scale transformation

Palm-sized transforming robots trade size for engineering. You get three machines and multiple combined forms in a small footprint, but the parts are small and the transformation steps are more fiddly than on a larger toy. That is inherent to the format, not a defect of this rerelease.

If you mainly want a large display piece, a fixed-pose figure will suit you better. If you want to handle the transformation and swap between Getter-1, Getter-2, and Getter-3, this format is the point.

Rerelease questions, answered

Is this a new mold or the original toy?: The catalog describes the same transformable Getter Machine set as before. No mold or engineering changes are listed, so plan on the original design rather than a redesign.
What is actually in the box?: The Getter Robo set contains the Eagle, Jaguar, and Boar machines. The Getter Robo G set contains Dragon, Liger, and Poseidon. They are sold as separate products. Check the product name for the 'G' before ordering.
Can I combine the two sets?: No. Each set combines only within its own series: Eagle, Jaguar, and Boar form Getter-1, Getter-2, and Getter-3; Dragon, Liger, and Poseidon form Star Dragon, Star Arrow, and Star Poseidon.
How big is it, and is it easy to transform?: It is small enough to fit in your palm, with many joints for posing. The catalog does not give a difficulty rating, so expect small parts and a learning curve typical of palm-scale transformation.
What should I check before buying a rerelease?: Confirm the series in the title, confirm the set contents, and note that the catalog does not list paint or accessory changes for this run. If those details matter to you, wait for the official product page to confirm them.
