Learn how the Nendoroid Surprise Evangelion blind box series works, including the character lineup, random surprise parts, and what to expect when you open a box.
Quick Answer
The Nendoroid Surprise Evangelion series is a blind box lineup where each box contains one randomly selected character variant plus one of 18 surprise parts, so you won't know exactly what you get until you open it.
Why blind box figures are a different collecting experience
Blind box figures trade the certainty of a standard purchase for the thrill of a random reveal. With the Nendoroid Surprise Evangelion series, you know the full character pool in advance, but not which one you'll get in a given box. That makes it a good fit for collectors who enjoy the surprise element or who plan to trade duplicates with friends.
Because the contents are random, you may receive a character or variant you already own. If you're after one specific figure, buying from a reseller or trading after opening might be more reliable than repeatedly purchasing blind boxes.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What characters are in the Nendoroid Surprise Evangelion series?
- The series includes six possible characters: Rei Ayanami (Plugsuit Ver., School Uniform Ver., Long Hair Ver.) and Asuka Shikinami Langley (Plugsuit Ver., School Uniform Ver., Jersey Ver.). Each box contains one of these at random. Check the full lineup before buying to see if you're interested in all possible outcomes.
- What are the surprise parts?
- There are 18 different surprise parts that can be collected, and each box includes one at random. These parts are separate from the figure and add an extra collectible element to each purchase. If you're aiming to collect all 18 parts, be prepared for many blind boxes or trading with other collectors.
- How is the product sold?
- The product is sold as a blind box, meaning the specific character and surprise part inside are not revealed until you open it. The available option type is 'Title', so you can choose the title but not the specific contents. If you need a specific character, consider buying from a secondary market where the contents are known.
