Considering the Paldom Alice figure? This buying guide covers what's included, how it compares to other Paldom releases, and who should skip it.
Quick Answer
The Paldom Alice figure is a charming addition to the Paldom fairy-tale line, offering multiple face parts and accessories that expand display possibilities. It's best for collectors who enjoy detailed, story-inspired figures and don't mind the premium price.
Why the Paldom Alice Figure Stands Out
The Paldom Alice figure is the second release in the Paldom fairy-tale series, following the first installment that was well-received. It brings the classic Alice in Wonderland character to life with a whimsical design that includes a headdress, dress, apron, petticoat, and more.
What makes this figure particularly appealing is the variety of face parts. You get four different expressions—including a side-glance face, an open-mouth 'ahh' face, and a sleeping face—which let you change the mood of your display. The included accessories, such as a cookie, tea set, and clock-shaped pochette, add to the storytelling potential.
Consider the Price and Value
The Paldom Alice figure is priced at USD 10929.60, with a catalog comparison price of USD 15180.00. That's a significant investment, so it's important to consider what you're getting for the money.
Compared to other figures in the same price range, the Paldom Alice offers a generous set of accessories and multiple face parts, which can justify the cost for dedicated collectors. However, if you're on a budget or prefer simpler figures, this might be more than you need.
Decision Rules: Should You Buy the Paldom Alice Figure?
- If you value display versatility: The four face parts and multiple hand parts allow for different poses and moods. If you enjoy changing your figure's look, this is a strong point. Check if the face parts are easy to swap—look for reviews or unboxing videos.
- If you're a completionist for fairy-tale series: As the second Paldom fairy-tale release, it's a must-have if you're collecting the series. The book-style packaging matches the first release, creating a cohesive collection. Consider whether you plan to collect future releases to maintain the set.
- If you're on a tight budget: At over USD 10,000, this is a premium figure. If the price feels steep, consider waiting for a sale or looking for a second-hand option. Set a budget and compare prices across retailers before committing.
